
Wil leads technical development of fire safety-related ULSE standards and provides technical support on fire protection topics.
Wil Fletcher is a Principal Standards Engineer at UL Standards & Engagement, where he leads technical development of fire safety-related ULSE standards and provides technical support on fire protection topics.
His extensive background spans more than 10 years as a career firefighter and over 20 years of combined paid and volunteer service, during which he advanced to the rank of chief officer. He also worked with NASA to help develop the calibration method for explosion detection devices used within mass transpiration screening.
A dedicated professional in fire safety and chemistry, Wil is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Chemical Society (ACS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), North Carolina State Firefighters’ Association, and the Durham Local Emergency Planning Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Fire Science, a Master’s in Chemistry, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Integrated Bio-sciences with a focus on Combined Chemistry & Data Science.
