Lisa leads standards development focused on emerging technologies and product safety, bringing together experts, industry stakeholders, and regulators to advance safer products.
Lisa Trofe is senior director of standards portfolio (technology) at UL Standards & Engagement, where she provides strategic leadership for standards development addressing emerging technologies and product safety. In her role, she works with technical experts, industry stakeholders, regulators, and other partners to advance consensus-based standards that help make products safer.
Lisa brings more than 15 years of experience in product safety, standards development, association leadership, public policy, and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining ULSE, she served as Executive Director of The Baby Safety Alliance (formerly the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association), leading the organization’s work across standards, regulatory and legislative affairs, public policy, membership, education, and communications. She also served as Executive Director of The Baby Safety Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on advancing child and product safety.
A longtime leader in voluntary standards development, Lisa served on the ASTM F15.90 Executive Committee and as Technical Committee Chair for ASTM F15.19, focused on infant bedding and related accessories. She has worked extensively with industry, government agencies, standards organizations, and other stakeholders to address emerging product safety issues and develop practical, consensus-based solutions.
Lisa serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of Product Safety Professionals and is a member of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO). She holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential and graduate certificates in Product Safety Management and Advanced Product Safety Management from Saint Louis University.
