
Emily leads research on human safety behavior and global safety trends.
Dr. Emily Brimsek is Senior Manager, Qualitative Insights, at UL Standards & Engagement. In this role, she leads the qualitative insights program within the Insights & Policy Analysis group. Her team employs multiple methodologies to understand human safety behaviors and decision-making, as well as conducting industry-level strategic research on topics such as the movement of lithium-ion batteries in the global supply chain.
In her past roles, Emily has served as Project Director for mixed-methods research and evaluation studies for a variety of federal clients, nonprofit organizations, and pharmaceutical companies, including the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and US Department of Education. She has led research publications for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Administration for Communities and Families, and the US Small Business Administration.
Emily holds a PhD and AM in History from Brown University.
