David Wroth is the senior director of technology and systems for UL Standards & Engagement. He leads the organization’s work to build and maintain systems to collaborate on standards that support safe living and working environments for people.
Wroth was instrumental in building UL Standards & Engagement’s data science capability to collect and analyze data from disparate sources and to develop insights to improve standards by leveraging tools such as natural language processing and machine learning algorithms. He served on the U.S. Department of Transportation Lithium Battery Aviation Safety Advisory committee, addressing the risk of lithium battery thermal runaway incidents on aircraft. Previously, Wroth was the director of public safety, responsible for leading key initiatives of the Public Safety Office and integrating these functions with other UL organizational programs.
Wroth earned an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University.
