Emma Ward is a Qualitative Insights Analyst at UL Standards & Engagement, where she applies qualitative methodologies such as ethnographic observation and in-depth interviews to explore how people interact with safety in real-world contexts. Her research examines behaviors, perceptions, and decision-making to uncover emerging safety challenges in areas like aviation, e-mobility, and emergency response. Emma delivers strategic, real-world insights that translate complex qualitative findings into actionable recommendations and provide a foundation for initiatives aimed at reducing risk and advancing safer practices.
Prior to joining ULSE, Emma supported federal clients through research and evaluation projects spanning housing, health, and human services. She advanced mixed-methods studies providing federal agencies with data-driven insights for program evaluation and planning.
Emma holds a Master of Science in Sociology with a concentration in research methodology from the University of North Texas, providing expertise in applied research design and analysis.
