UL 4600, the Standard for Safety for the Evaluation of Autonomous Products, addresses the ability of autonomous products such as self-driving cars to perform safely without human intervention. It covers computer-based system aspects of autonomous operation and its requirements help to ensure that a comprehensive safety case is in place to address changes required from traditional safety practices to accommodate autonomy. It is one of the most popular UL standards in terms of readership and has undergone some new developments since the publication of its first edition in April 2020.

In this webinar, we will highlight the key updates in the second edition, published in March 2022. These updates include several changes to the requirements to advance the clarity, consistency, depth, and breadth of the Standard. Our presenters will also provide a glimpse of the trends related to the proposed updates and changes for truck-specific criteria the upcoming third edition.
