Celebrating the Fourth Annual World Anti-Counterfeiting Week


Can you tell the difference between real and fake products? According to OpSec’s research, 59% of consumers have trouble identifying authentic products when shopping online. At the same time, 87% of consumers who bought a counterfeit product report suffering negative consequences from financial loss to illness and injury.

Fourth annual World Anti-Counterfeiting WeekFrom Nov. 14 to 18, 2022, Be Safe Buy Real celebrated its fourth annual World Anti-Counterfeiting Week. To educate consumers about the harmful effects of counterfeit products, the program delivers safety information on anti-counterfeiting in the form of stories, videos, infographics, safety facts, and interviews while working with educators, professionals, law enforcement, and industry experts. The campaign has been established as consumers’ go-to resource for anti-counterfeiting information with four safety topics: consumer safety, human health, digital safety, and home safety.

Be Safe Buy Real partners with 41 organizations that are key in delivering our messaging and providing critical information on safety alerts and trends. By working with our partners, we have had 1.6 million social media reach and 23.3 thousand engagements so far this year.
